OUR  REGULAR PROGRAMMING

Reach-Out is a special program that connects with people who are currently in mental health facilities or adult residential facilities ("board and care" homes), to bring peer support, encouragement, and wellness resources.

Our program depends on a team of volunteer visitors.  All Reach Out volunteers have lived experience with mental health hospitalization and/or living in adult care facilities, and can relate to the people we serve.  Reach Out has made a commitment to include Saturday visits in their calendar, as weekends are often less structured in these facilities.

Please contact Reach Out if you are interested in joining our volunteer team or donating to our program.

PEP (Peer Empowerment Publication)

Beginning in March 2021 Reach Out, one ACNMHC five (5) Programs, launched Our Space a Peer Empowerment Publication (PEP). This publication is created monthly by Reach Out Team Members who are all mental health peers and contains wellness tools, affirmations, community news/highlights, self-care tips. a wellness cartoon, quote of the month, a team member's personal story, and consumer creative expression (when available). The goal of PEP is to inspire hope through sharing our lived experience and providing information, wellness tools, and resources to assist consumers in living successfully in the community. Reach Out aims to foster wellness in Alameda County through promoting consumer choice, independence, & empowerment.
